◆Comments from Sadayuki Sakakibara, Chairman of the Nippon Professional Baseball Organization
We are delighted to have finalized this partnership with the Council for Sports Ecosystem Promotion (C-SEP).
C-SEP has pursued the missions of “clarification of rights,” “creation of social value,” and “digital transformation (DX),”
while establishing collaborations with over 115 member companies and numerous sports organizations both in Japan and abroad.
In particular, we are greatly encouraged by C-SEP’s leadership in addressing illegal sports betting through its international network,
an issue that has become an urgent challenge for the NPB. This initiative strongly aligns with the longstanding efforts of the NPB and its teams to develop rights-related business and to protect players from misconduct and antisocial forces.
Through this partnership, we look forward to sharing expertise with domestic sports organizations,
strengthening cooperation with global sports bodies and related institutions, and contributing to the integrity,
growth, and enhanced value of the sports industry as a whole.
◆Comments from Hironori Inagaki, Representative Director of the Council for Sports Ecosystem Promotion
We are honored to have formed this partnership with the Nippon Professional Baseball Organization,
an organization that has inspired dreams and excitement among people for many years and has been a driving force in shaping Japan’s sports culture.
Our Council now comprises over 115 member companies, bringing together knowledge, networks,
and human resources cultivated through their corporate activities.
Through this partnership, by linking the NPB’s extensive network, expertise, and track record with the Council’s diverse resources,
we expect to further advance the creation of new value and the development of sustainable systems originating from the sports industry.
Furthermore, in collaboration with international institutions such as the Council of Europe,
we have been promoting measures to prevent illegal sports betting, with a particular focus on the protection of athletes from manipulation.
Going forward, we will continue to work closely with the NPB to enhance integrity in sport and related initiatives.
